My starting weight was 142.6 lbs.
I initially didn't have success and then weight started dripping off. How exciting!
I got all the way down to 133.2 lbs and then a series of tragic events (two hospitalizations and my grandmother's death) sent my weight skyrocketing back up.
In a matter of a month I was up to 148.6 lbs.
how depressing.
I know some of you might be saying "But you don't even weigh that much!" or "Who does she think she is, I have a hundred lbs to lose!"
but the point is that I identify with hard weight loss and that I struggle to make healthy decisions.
And, I really want to make healthy decisions.
So, as I've cleaned up my eating a bit, i'm down a pound! Yay! 1 down a bunch more to go!
How have you kept yourself from getting too discouraged by fluctuations? Please tell!

Friday Foodie (#1)
Well guys,
life can certainly be unpredictable.
I was five pounds away from my goal weight, when I was hospitalized.
After that, my grandmother died, and I ended up in the hospital again!
And then my life crumbled again, and I gained everything back and then some.
But with a diagnoses of BiPolar disorder, I've snapped myself back in to focus.
both my MENTAL and PHYSICAL health are of utmost importance to me.
First up on my list, is figuring out how to stay healthy at home.
Breakfast, no problem.
Lunch? A consistent healthy one....
Dinner? a totally unpredictable variable that relies solely on my mother.
My mother started me on this journey two years ago.
She strives to lose weight, but she doesn't have the determination to.
I struggle with this. Being around a mom who doesn't care about health, makes it difficult to be healthy yourself! (I mean, she DOES offer Delicious caramel popcorn on a regular basis, and it is SO GOOD.)
How do you resist daily temptation? What would you do in my spot?

7Up Bread (quick recipe!)
7Up Bread.
It's so delicious! Me and my mom sat around this pan of bread, and shamelessly ate a row of it.
Ok, so that wasn't healthy. But, I this recipe is great, and even better, it's sweet! It's almost a breakfast bread.
Here is what you need besides an oven, pan and bowl:
Instructions:
preheat oven to 450 degrees (um, does anyone know where the degree symbol is on a PC?)
Melt butter and mix ingredients and spread in pan. (mine was 9x9x11) spread the dough as far as you can. (It will be really thin, but don't worry, it fluffs up like you wouldn't believe!)
Optional: you can use extra butter and just run it over the top of the bread to give the crust and extra flavor oomph.
The recipe that was given to me didn't have a time. It ended up being around....15 minutes? Start with seven minutes and go from there. Sorry for the vague time, I just went minutes my minutes and checked on it.
Either way, this bread is delicious! Now, if you use Bisquick for pancakes, the bread at first will taste like pancakes, but eventually that flavor seems to fade and it just tastes fabulous!
You could do so many things with this recipe. You could use it with jam, or spread for breakfast....you could use it with soup....anything!

Southern Style Honey Butter
Guys,
I adore honey butter....but the only time I really had it, was at my local Roadhouse Grill.
Which is all well and good but that means I also have a lot of other food.
So what if I had a healthy meal, with a little bit of indulgence in the form of a roll/piece of bread and honey butter?
This recipe is SO EASY.
All you need:
- Blender
- 1/2 cup (usually one stick) of butter
- 2 Tablespoons Honey (or until taste)
- 2 Tablespoons of Sweetened Condensed Milk
Add Sweetened Condensed Milk and Honey (you may want to start with 1 Tablespoon. 2 Tablespoons might be too sweet for some people's tastes.
Blend.
VOILA!

The Start of Something....Delicious!
Hi!
Welcome to From a Foodie!
I've always adored food, but never really got into cooking or baking until now.
I hope you have fun keeping up with me and my journey of eating healthier, while still getting fabulous tastes!
